Beth Malcom
Meet Beth Malcom, a dedicated leader and advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) with a rich background in nonprofit management. With over a decade of experience, Beth has made significant contributions to the Kentucky YMCA Youth Association (KYYMCA), serving in various capacities, including President & CEO.
Currently, Beth holds the position of Chief Operations Officer at Bakers Studio, where she brings her wealth of experience and leadership to streamline operations and contribute to the success of the organization. In her prior role as President & CEO at KYYMCA, Beth navigated the organization through the challenges of the pandemic, ensuring undisrupted operations, zero furloughs or layoffs, and implementing a multi-faceted innovation strategy.
Beth is recognized for her leadership in DEI, having founded the Alliance of KY/WV YMCAs DEI Taskforce, served as the Chair of the KY/WV Alliance, and been a member of the YUSA Diversity, Inclusion, and Global Initiatives Leadership Council. As a national speaker on leadership, youth empowerment, and DEI, Beth brings a wealth of experience to the table.
Her skills span budgeting and forecasting, employee learning and development, fundraising, public speaking, strategic planning, strategic partnerships, change management, and project management. She oversees an annual budget of up to 3.6 million dollars, manages a 28-member board of directors (including 7 youth members), and leads development efforts with foundations, corporations, and individual donors.
Currently involved in multiple board roles, including Operations Dream Team/Board Member at Kentucky Student Voice Team and Vice Chair Board of Directors at Louisville Youth Philanthropy Council, Beth continues to shape the landscape of youth development and philanthropy. As a founding member of the DEI Task Force at KY/WV Alliance of YMCAs, she showcases her commitment to fostering inclusive environments.
Beth's passion for global understanding is evident in her longstanding role as an Education Committee Member at the World Affairs Council of Kentucky & Southern Indiana since 2014. Her dedication to education and DEI is not only a professional commitment but also a personal mission as she utilizes her experience and skills in mental health counseling to manage, empower, and motivate staff, youth, and stakeholders.
In an exciting new chapter as Chief Operations Officer at Bakers Studio, Beth continues to take on new challenges, contributing her wealth of experience and leadership to create positive change.
