Carroll Mackin
Carroll Mackin is a trusted advisor, entrepreneur, coach, and consultant.
His entrepreneurial skills were solidified with being a founder and CEO of Great Northern Holding LLC, a manufacturing holding company he started when he was 29 and sold in 2018. Since then, he has served as interim or fractional executive in COO, CFO and CEO seats, most recently, as part time COO for a specialized services company. The business grew 500% in 6 months due to a massive contract and was not equipped or structured for this new scale. Carroll coached the executive team to adapt to new roles in a larger business.
His experience leading his own businesses and advising numerous others benefits his coaching clients through thoughtful and insightful questions. Those questions manifest themselves into impactful and challenging goals and solid execution with his clients. His approach to coaching is to listen intensely and intentionally challenge clients in ways that are unique but not always easy.
Originally from Philadelphia, he grew up in New Jersey, went to School in Nashville and Chicago and have since lived in Cleveland, Grand Rapids, Chicago, Nashville, and Boston before settling in Louisville 20 years ago. He is engaged in community work focused on development and growth of Louisville’s historically underserved West Side. He speaks Spanish and enjoys travel, reading, playing the guitar and many outdoor activities, including flying.
